Legacy Mission Statement

The Mission of the Footsteps Legacy Giving program is to provide the opportunity for individuals to support future generations as they strive to make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The members of the Legacy Committee are committed to being good stewards of funds entrusted to it. It is responsible for inviting gifts, growing gifts and insuring that those gifts are always used as intended by the donor. Our pledge is that "Thy Will Be Done"!

Getting Started

Making the decision to support Munholland through your Legacy is an important choice. With all options that are available as you consider this possibility, it is always advisable that you consult with your financial adviser as you begin this process. As we get to the point in our lives when we are considering the message that we want to convey to future generations, the opportunity to reconfirm our commitment to supporting God's work in the world takes on a new significance.

It also gives you some ideas of the Ministries that you may want to consider as you decide where to place your funds. This is your opportunity to continue to support those areas that have been important to you during your lifetime.

It also provides you the opportunity to declare to your family and the community of the church the reasons why you have chosen to continue to support Munholland's ministries into the future.

Areas of Ministry

Footsteps Endowment

The purpose of the Footsteps Fund is to provide the opportunity for individuals to support future generations as they strive to make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. This fund will be dedicated to all Legacy gifts that are not otherwise specifically designated to a particular area of ministry. The fund will focus on distributions for the maintenance and support of the physical assets of the Church; capital improvements; unforeseen expenses for safety and/or regulatory compliance; outreach ministries and grants; seed money for new ministries and special one-time projects; and scholarships.

Gaye McCutchen Endowment

The purpose of the Gaye McCutchen Fund is to significantly improve Munholland’s music program. These funds are specifically designated to be used for professional musicians that will enhance the quality of the music for the church as a whole with a focus on growing a musical presence in the early morning service.

Youth Service Endowment

Children and Youth are our future. This Fund is developed to help provide engaging ministry for teenagers; to provide a safe place for them to enhance relationships with other teenagers who share the same values and interests; and to prepare them for life’s challenges, develop hearts to serve others and transition them into church leaders.

Mission Endowment

Through our Mission work we aspire to be Christians who practice our faith through love and kindness for all, in accordance with the teaching of Christ. We seek to create more followers of Jesus Christ with the broader aim of making the world a better place to live in. We work to take the Lord’s message to places as yet untouched by Christ’s message through efforts to provide relief to the underprivileged and the deprived. The focus can be on our local community, national, and international needs.

Susie May Munholland Scholarship Endowment

Emogene Ryan and Reverend R. Laney Kuhn Scholarship Endowment

The purpose of the Kuhn Fund is provide financial assistance to students who are interested in pursuing an advanced degree that will prepare them for church work in the fields of Christian education, sacred music, and the ordained, commissioned or certified leadership of the United Methodist Church.

Wesleyan Christian Education Endowment

The purpose of the Wesleyan Fund is to 1) Support graduating high school seniors who are interested in pursuing a degree that will lead to professional ministry; or 2) Support Junior and Senior High School students who are interested in attending a specific education experience which may help the define personal goals which will lead to a path toward Christian ministry; or 3) Support adults who may be discerning a call into Christian service.
